To give water the impression of motion, shoot at a slower shutter speed. Picture on the left was shot at a fast shutter speed , while the picture on the right was shot at a slow shutter speed. Note the difference. The slower shutter speed blurs the water giving an impression of motion.
TIP # 2
Try to always use a tripod. You will get sharper pictures.
